What are some good comic books to read that would get me back into comics?

Comics

I am a young adult who has not read comic books since I was a little kid, but I am going to the comic book convention in Chicago tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about titles I should look for that would help me get interested in reading comics again.

Anything by Neil Gaiman…the man is a genius!

    I suggest reading the Sandman.
It’s probably one of the best comics of all time. It’s one of the few to ever hit the best seller list. It’s based around the 7 “Endless” or humanoid figures that can never die…Dream, Delerium, Destruction, Death, Desire, Destiny and Despair. They outlive gods and have their own realms. The story is about their lives and everyone they encounter. (John Constantine from Hellblazer is even introduced). It verges from interesting to seriously disturbing in some parts… (ie. one of the nightmares called the Corinthian gets loose and starts killing people by removing their eyes…) so a little graphic in some parts…not for kids.))

Check it out if you haven’t already. It’s totally bad ass.
